SHIPPING & REFUND POLICY

Shipping  

Once we receive your order, your fish will be selected. Your new fish will then be quarantined and not fed for at least 48 hours. We do this to ensure ammonia levels remain stable during shipping. We currently ship fish orders Monday-Wednesday via UPS Next Day Air, in the order in which we receive them. If you require a specific day, please contact us via email. Please make sure you are available to receive the fish upon their arrival. *Holidays and inclement weather may affect shipping dates.

Shipping on fish orders will vary depending on quantity / weight. We can accommodate 1/2 lb food with fish orders.

*There may be additional shipping charges for larger orders. In these rare cases, we will split the overage with the customer. An invoice will be sent which must be paid prior to shipping*

We offer UPS Next Day Air Shipping. Currently we are only able to ship to the lower 48 states within the United States. In the event of any damages caused by the shipping carrier, Jersey Cichlids will not issue a credit.

Food Orders

Shipping has been reduced on food orders that are more than two pounds! If you wish to place a food order of (20) pounds or more, please contact us for invoice.

Refund Policy

ALL CREDIT/REFUND INQUIRES WILL BE HANDLED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS AND ANY CREDIT GIVEN WILL BE USED TOWARDS A FUTURE PURCHASE BUT WILL NOT APPLY TOWARDS NEW SHIPPING COSTS

 

 

Live Arrival Guarantee  

 

Live arrival means once the fish are delivered to your door and you open the box, we guarantee the fish will be alive in the bags. Once you open the bags and expose the fish to your water, the guarantee is null and void. We do not guarantee your new fish will not be harassed and/or killed by tank mates in your quarantine tank or that your new fish will live in your water conditions. In the unfortunate event you have a fish that is DOA (dead on arrival) you will be refunded for that fish, not for shipping cost. It is your responsibility to receive your fish at the time of delivery. Therefore, said refund will only be offered with photo/video evidence of the DOA in the unopened bag within one hour of delivery. Photo/video evidence can be sent to info@jerseycichlids.com.

Guaranteed Gender

If you think you received the wrong gender of fish, we will offer a store credit for that fish. Said credit will only be offered with photo/video evidence of unmistakable gender traits: photo of fish "holding" eggs or ventral photo of genitals (a vent).

Death of Fish After Arrival 

All fish are screened prior to shipment for parasites and/or disease. We are not responsible for any deaths caused by any of, but not limited to : improper tank parameters, incorrect acclimation of fish or existing disease/parasites in your tank.

Fish Color Changes - OBs

When purchasing an OB, please keep in mind that no two are alike. Specifically with OBs, they may have the genetic ability to store pigments  supplemented in food differently. We try our best to accurately describe our OB's phenotype however OBs colors are not guaranteed. Please note at check out if you're looking for a specific color trait in your OB.
